Q. Who needs therapy?
A. Not restricted to anyone or any one condition… anyone who is struggling with life stress/emotions, relationship issues/ struggle with self-worth, unhelpful ways to cope with life’s struggles and struggling to make headway in life can benefit from therapy.
Q. Why therapy?
A. You don't want to be told to 'get over it', 'toughen up', 'it will be ok', 'you are weak'.
At times it is a challenge to speak to friends or family as they can only do so much. Talking openly to someone and discussing what is going on inside your mind can sometimes be very difficult.

That is when someone with specialist knowledge, training and experience can more effectively guide you towards understanding and managing your problems without having to cost your relationship, health, job or other negative consequences.
You will not be judged or undermined, but appreciated for who you are and what you bring to the therapy.
In return, you will be guided to explore your values, which you may have forgotten or drifted away from, which could bring much-needed meaning and richness into your life.
Q. When is the right time to see a mental health specialist?
A. It is the right time to see a psychologist when:
  • you are losing sleep
  • you find yourself worrying or thinking about problems constantly
  • others noticing a change in your behaviour
  • increased unhelpful ways to cope (working hard/long hours, getting irritable, consuming more alcohol or other forms of drugs)
  • lack of motivation,
  • avoiding to meet others and becoming somewhat anti-everything
  • not exercising and frequently arguing with others
  • becoming cold and uncaring towards others or have become apathetic are signs that you need help
Q. How long does it take and how much does it cost?
A. Usually, 90 minutes of an initial Psychologists consultation and subsequent follow up consultations as required of about 60 minutes. Our consultation fee is based on an hourly rate of $225 (GST Excludes).

You may qualify for subsidy/funded ($0 fee) programme such as Wellness Programme, so check with your usual Doctor (GP), ACC,  Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) or Health Insurance provider, Southern Cross* (* some top up fee applicable).

Psychiatrists Consolations Fee $550 (GST Excludes) per 60 minutes and further follow ups $250 (GST Exclusive). Standard ADHD assessment usual fee $1300 (GST Excludes) and for other Psychiatric Services fee may vary so please ask us to provide quotes.

Q. What is the ADHD referral process:
ADHD Referral Process at iMind Clinic:
  1. GP Referral: Your GP must send a direct referral to our clinic regarding ADHD.
  2. Client Input: You can also securely share your situation with us directly.
  3. Review & Appointment: A psychiatrist will review your referral and offer a suitable appointment within 3-6 weeks.
  4. Assessment: Please note that an assessment does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis; it must meet strict diagnostic criteria, determined by the psychiatrist. The same applies to medication—it's at the psychiatrist's discretion.
  5. Payment & Booking: We require prepayment to confirm your booking.
  6. Assessment Process:
    - After the face-to-face assessment, you'll complete online ADHD scales (provided).
    - A full report will be available to share with your doctor or other professionals.
  7. Medication (if applicable):
    - If suitable, the psychiatrist will discuss medication options and may provide the first prescription.
    - Follow-up is typically via Zoom 3-4 weeks later.
    - You may be asked to undergo specific blood tests and an ECG.
